Default !!QUICK LAUNCH FIX!!

Hey, This is really great! Now, for those of us that do not
know what a "reg hack" is or how to implement such an
animal without destroying the complete system, can you give
us a step by step method on how to safely perform this fix??

Thanks

"Welcome Back Quick Launch Toolbar!"

Ok People here goes and from what I understand this is the

silver bullet to the Quick Launch gone missing dilemma

Go to: http://www.criticalnexus.com/resources/

and click on the winxp_cannot_create_toolbar.reg and

download the reg file
use this reg hack to fix your problem and you should be set.

From what I'm to understand seems that adaware/search &

destroy people were overzelous in their registry editing
efforts and they helped to remove an essential key

Enjoy!

Wish I could take credit for this, but unfortunately I

can't. Koudos to the person that found the fix! Job Well Done!

Download the file, doubleclick on the file and it will ask

you to confirm if you would like to add it to your
registry...you say "OK" and you are good to go! QLT back in
play

It worked for me...

Hi Jim,

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the
import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right clicking on the
file and selecting
Edit.

To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you
may want to right
click and use Save Target As). Double click the vbs file. You will be
prompted when the script
is done.

Quick Launch: Gives error message, Cannot Create Toolbar

Either download the .reg or .vbs from here or run my utility listed below it
to correct.

Note: If you already have my utility downloaded, you will need to
re-download for the added fix.

Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! Quick Launch - Repair

Quick Launch: Won't remain checked/present nor retains the sort order

Either check your settings he

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.

In the right pane under Userinit, Change the key to read:
C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,

Or download and run the reg file on line 263 (right hand side)
