Hello. My comp has been occasionally getting busy--extremely so-- at times.
The reason of this is unknown, and in extreme cases the screen goes black and
no response whasoever can be invoked from it. Would anyone know what how to
go about diagnosing this problem? Perhaps it is caused by a deficiency in
ram?, since the issue usually occurs when Im playing games.

Comp specs: Intel 2.8ghz, 512 RAM winXP SP2.

Thank you very much. But there is one more thing: how does one know which
startup is pesky and which is not?
