How to stop this process "SpatialAudioLicenseSrv.exe"?
I have been monitoring Windows program/process startup and shutdown for
eons, using Windows system sounds. Starting a few years ago, there is one annoying process that produces dozens of startup sounds after the system has been idle for a few minutes. Totally annoying. Seems to be "SpatialAudioLicenseSrv.exe". Is that process common? How do I get rid of it? I suppose that was caused by some inexperienced Microsoft programmer who forgot to unset the system sounds switch for that process (or something like that). Most Windows' open and close PROGRAM sounds are produced by third-party GUI processes, like you would expect, not every freaking background process that occurs in Windows. Thanks. |

You're not allowed to listen to any audio above mono without a license, and Win10 needs to connect to a server to check on that. You did buy the spatial license, yes? Thanks. Sure bet. |

How to stop this process "SpatialAudioLicenseSrv.exe"?
Did a bit of looking and got "Unlocker". Using Agent Ransack, found
a bunch of "SpatialAudioLicenseSrv.exe". Using Unlockerx64, deleted the two pertinent looking copies, from System32 and SysWOW64. Have restarted twice, preliminarily speaking that is working. No more annoying two dozen rapidfire instances of the open program sound, after the system has been idle for a few minutes. Will see whether that is a permanent solution. Lasting until at least the next Windows numerical update will be plenty considering how easy the fix is. I get the impression Windows does not check the integrity of all system files every time Windows update is used. Hope not. And I don't even know exactly what sort of file "SpatialAudioLicenseSrv" is, appears to be a Microsoft file. That's not guaranteed to work, so better suggestions are welcome. It's back! Apparently Microsoft will stick it in there with each
update, not just (big) number updates. But apparently they can be deleted each time, no big deal, maybe make a script for it. I wrote: Did a bit of looking and got "Unlocker". Turned off Windows Updates for 35 days (or whatever maximum time).
Problem solved. What a relief. I wrote: It's back! Apparently Microsoft will stick it in there with each update, not just (big) number updates.
