Default 2 Questions Concerning Edge

1. Is there a way to save a webpage in Edge, other than printing it as
a PDF?

2. Is there a way to save the target of a link in Edge? When I right
click on a link (such as to an mp3), I get 3 choices: (1) Open in a new
tab, (2) Open in a new window, or (3) Copy link.

Currently when I run into these problems, I just click on "open with
internet explorer". Edge may normally be faster but not if I have to go
back & forth between browsers to perform what should be simple tasks.

Another feature Edge could use is "highlight text then right-click
Search with [Google]" option.

Looks like Edge abandons too many browser features to obtain "speed" to be
suitable for me. I've been contemplating selecting either IE or Firefox
as my default browser (and unpinning Edge from the taskbar as well).

Edge is actually an "app" and listed in the "Life at a glance" top section
of the Windows button popup menu; therefore easily accessible if I need to
or ever should want to use it.

If you can copy the link could you make a new bookmark and paste it into there? I can't get to my win10 to test.

The only thing I've found they improved (or maybe I missed it in the TPs) but they do now have a bookmarks toolbar.
I use Firefox.

Yeah, copy and paste the address from the address then create a shortcut
[on the desktop]... and go from there.

Edge also presents that "Reader View" button in the address bar, like
Firefox. That's really a nice feature which I use a lot. I too like
Firefox. I made it my default (for now), unpinned Edge from my taskbar and
pinned Firefox. Seems to be working well.

Edge has download issues too... No "save as" so you can choose locations,
it just defaults to the User's Download folder. When printing with Cute
PDF, it doesn't give a "save to" dialog - Firefox still does - and Edge
shows that the PDF is printed, but it's nowhere to be found...

I keep checking in on Edge from the Apps menu, but Microsoft might be
wanting to rethink some of the features....

I haven't seen a practical solution yet to the missing "Save As".

I think you're just supposed to read the News in it.

Or run browser benchmarks in it. Or something.

I can't see installing a Download Manager and dragging
a link to it, to be very practical. Especially if the
link is "booby-trapped" and needs context from the
original page.

I guess this is why we have third-party browsers.
So you can pick your favorite set of functions.

Is Edge easy to uninstall?

Is Edge easy to uninstall?

In the Programs and Features control panel, there is
the Windows Features thing that allows removing stuff.

It allows removing Internet Explorer 11, but Edge
is not in the list, that I can see.

One reason might be that Edge is an App, and
maybe there's an App way to remove it.
It could be, that the removal process is a
subset of one of these mass-destruction
methods.

******

http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-remov...in-windows-10/

These run in PowerShell. These are mass-destruction
commands that should be used with care.

# Type the following command to remove
# all Modern apps from the system account:

Get-AppXProvisionedPackage -online | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -online

# Type the following command to remove
# all Modern apps from your current user account:

Get-AppXPackage | Remove-AppxPackage

Without using the Remove-* scripts, you could
try these just to see if Edge is listed or not.
If Edge is listed, you may be able to remove it.

Get-AppXProvisionedPackage -online

Get-AppXPackage

Why bother? Just don't use it. Instal Google Chrome* (my preference)
or Mozilla Firefox** and set it as the default browser.

*Instal the 32-bit version -- there have been problems with the 64-bit
version failing in the 10525 and 10532 preview builds post-release.

**I don't know if * above applies to Firefox.

I'd suggest Opera. It uses the same engine as what Chrome uses but
doesn't snoop on you the way Google's browser does. Also, it respects
your decision to block ads on Youtube.
