Default Retail Box Versions Of SP2?

Hi. Will Microsoft replace the current uprgrade and full
retail box versions of SP1 with SP2? If they do will SP2
be on one CD or will their be the SP1 CD then the SP2 CD
will be on on separate CD? Also will the retail boxed
versions have driver updates on it? I some one listing
on Buy.Com for preorder but it had SP2 at $222.00 for the
full version I hope Microsoft won't raise the price on
SP2. Thanks, Craig.

I think Buy.com has their prices mixed up. They have XP
SP2 Pro at $198 and Home at $222. Then they have another
Pro version for $330.

Craig;
Little has been said how that will be accomplished so it seems someone
is selling what he thinks may exist and not necessarily will exist.

The CD with just Windows XP Service Pack 2 will be free:

Most likely Microsoft will immediately begin manufacturing Windows XP
including SP2.
However if they do what they did for SP1, there will be no identifying
if or what Service Pack is included.
This is to prevent people thinking there is a newer version and buying
it because they think it is new.

As for driver updates?
Who knows.
However drivers come from the hardware manufacturers only if the
manufacturer pays for the certification necessary.
If the manufacturer has not done it then you already know the answer
is No.
