SP2 Pre-install Process?
you will want to CLOSE not Disable these programs,
uninstalling should not be needed. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/s...hattoknow.mspx -----Original Message----- I know that this subject has been rehashed several times, but I want detailed info before proceed with the install. My PC is running XP with adequate speed and memory. I run Mozilla as my internet access (cable with router) I am also running Norton Sytemworks 2004, Ad-Aware and Spybot. I also have WindowBlinds modifying my desktop. I am looking for better info as to what should be disabled, and what should be removed totally. Do I need to REMOVE Norton products, or will simply disabling them work? Same for Ad-Aware as well as Spybot and Windowblinds. Thanks. ;-Deano . |

Certainly disable Norton and *uninstall* WindowBlinds, or anything else that *might* be modifying system components, or making assumptions about how they work. See a collection of suggestions we have put together at Installing SP2: http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=45 -- Alex Nichol MS MVP (Windows Technologies) Bournemouth, U.K. (remove the D8 bit) |
