Default Quickdrive & windws XP

I've just got a new PC with Windows XP on it. On gadget I got a few
years ago - a great device - is a DataWise Quickdrive. Basically its
just a box into which you stick your own HDD and it becomes a
portable drive connected via the parallel port.

Trouble is I can't get it to work on XP with its original software, nor
with Windows 2000 software I downloaded.

The support page of the Datawise website is not helpful

http://www.datawise-online.com/index.htm

basically it just says go away we're not supporting the device any
more!

Has anyone any ideas - or maybe know where I can look?

Can't help you much, I'm afraid. If the hardware manufacturer does not
supply updated software, drivers or even support, your neat piece of
hardware turns into a doorstop.
