Editing Registry
Hey Nick,
Within regedit, CTRL-F will let you search, F3 will search for the next instance of whatever you searched for with CTRL-F. To edit a key, double click on it in the right window pane, to delete a folder or key right click on it. The registry is a database, so there is no save command; saving is automatic. Also, MAKE A BACKUP if you are not familiar with editting your registry .. If you just recently installed this application that you want all traces removed, consider using the system restore wizard (search for it in Windows help). You can restore to a previous state without the dangers you encounter by going into the registry yourself. -James -----Original Message----- Recently upgraded to XP, clean install. Trouble with scanner program. Contacted vendor, download and install new software. Didn't work. Vendor says that I have to remove all mention of sftware from registry. I can get into the Registry edit routine, but have no idea what the operative commands are to find, edit and save? Is there a souce for help? Nick . |
