Default Windows XP will not open

As I turn on my computer--it goes to a message "sorry for the inconvenience,
but Windows did not start successfully..........." I then have the option of
choosing safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt,
last know configuration, or normal. After choosing any one of these--it goes
back into the same loop. After hitting F8-Im eventually able to find that
its states error 32-missing or corrupt files. I am unable to go any other
place on computer---How do I fix this??? Can I fix it without a recovery
cd?? Is there anywhere I can download a recover CD from another computer to
disk?? I have Windows XP Media Center 2006. My computer is a Sony Vaio
VGN-AX580G. Please help.

Hello,

What is the full error message? Did you get this error message from a blue
background colored screen?
