Default lost files

I installed Windows XP Pro over ME with out copying
existing files in my documents,mp3's, etc. Is there ANY
way of recovering those files? Please help, desperate!

Default lost files

During XP's initial setup, did you select the default "Upgrade" option =
or did
you select the "New Installation" option? You should have selected the =
default
"Upgrade" option. If, for some reason, you selected the "New =
Installation" option,
then it is likely your personal files were overwritten. Sorry to hear =
you did not
create a "backup" before proceeding.
