Trashbox Folder

Win XP Pro
I have a folder named trashbox on my NAS.

Is this the recyclebin for the NAS ?
Are these folders and files that were "deleted" from other folders on
the NAS ?

Do I delete all the file in the trashbox folder if I need the space ?
