Printer Driver
I am using an HP Pavilion 750n running Windows XP Home
edition. It is connected via LAN to Sony Viao computer, which has a HP Laserjet 4100 connected. I can print most documents from most applications on that printer without problems, but anything involving the Ariel font will not work properly. The characters are printed with spaces between them. When I go into the printers and faxes selection under control panel on my computer and go down to the device settings tab - font substitution table, plain Ariel is not there. When I do the same procedure on the Sony Viao that is connected to the printer the Ariel font is there. I have tried deleting the printer driver icon and reinstalling it, but that did not help. I also went to the server properties tab and tried to delete that printer, but received the message "cannot delete - the specified printer driver in use." I tried shutting down all applications and rebooting and still got the same message. Other computers on this LAN do not have this problem. When I view the documents using the ariel font on my computer, they look just as they do when printed out, i.e. with spaces between characters. What is the problem here and how can I fix it? |
