Default Dell Inspiron 1300 "-" key not working

Hi.

the "-" of my Dell Inspiron 1300 is not working. I pressed the "-" key
but there's no output on the screen and occasionally, the "-" will be
pressed automatically and "-------------" and so on will take lots of
spaces in my Ms Word, Notepad and any other application that can accept
keyboard's inputs.

This symptom happens intermittently.

How can i disable "-" key?

Thanks.

Albert

Albert,
If the system is still under warranty, call Dell and ask them to send
you a new keyboard. If the warranty has expired, then go out an buy a
new key board. No other easier way around that.

Do as Skip suggested and call Dell to order the keyboard. If your laptop
is still under warranty, there will be no charge. If your laptop is not
under warranty, purchase a new laptop keyboard for your specific model
from Dell. Depending on your warranty situation, either have the Dell
tech come and install the keyboard for you, take it to a local
professional, or do it yourself. Replacing an Inspiron keyboard is
usually extremely easy.
