Remove of Cookie_DoubleClick
Does anyone know how to "successfully and permanently" remove
Cookie_DoubleClick from their computer. I have Trend Micro which I run weekly and each week it removes that spyware, but apparently short term. I did see one suggestion to go to Root Drive\Windows\cookies but I don't even know where the Root Drive is?!? I even did a Search and found nothing. I would greatly appreciate someone's help with this! Thank You!!! Daddy's Gurl |

I would greatly appreciate someone's help with this! Thank You!!! Daddy's Gurl Many legitimate websites use tracking cookies (from doubleclick and similar agencies). Trend Micro and other security software can remove these cookies at regular intervals - but in my opinion, you should take steps to prevent them from the outset. To block cookies from a specified website, you can open Internet Explorer. Then, click on Tools | Internet Options | Privacy | Sites - and add the cookie addresses to the list of blocked sites. For instance, to block cookies from doubleclick, you would add "doubleclick.com" and "doubleclick.net" to the blocked list. However, you can change the cookie handling defaults in Internet Explorer, to restrict the use of this type of cookie. Click on Tools | Internet Options | Privacy | Advanced. Then, change the default settings to the following suggestion - which works for me: Override automatic cookie handling - Yes First Party Cookies - accept Third Party Cookies - prompt Always allow session cookies - Yes. These settings should not interfere with legitimate cookies from websites that you visit. Without these cookies, the websites may prevent access to individual pages. However, Internet Explorer will seek approval, before it accepts any cookie where the domain name and the cookie name differs in any way. You will need to exercise discretion, so for instance, the www.britishairways.co.uk, the website might want to load a cookie in the name of www.britishairways.com - which would be acceptable. Most tracking cookies report back to third party organisations. Consequently, the setting will always prompt for your approval, before Internet Explorer will accept tracking cookies from www.doubleclick.com, www.2o7.com, www.207.net, www.addfreestats.com - or similar domains. Every time you are prompted to accept an unwanted tracking cookie, you should add it to the blocked list. This creates a comprehensive list of blocked cookies - and you will not receive any further prompts for those sites. |

Remove of Cookie_DoubleClick
I just found this thread, after getting annoyed at my Trend Micro reporting
on all my office PCs as regularly being cleaned of these annoying cookies. GREAT, simple explanation and instructions. Many Thanks. -- Best Regards Rod Rocket "Bob Lucas" wrote: "Daddy''''''''s Gurl" wrote in message ... Bob Lucas, Thank YOU so much!!!
