This has to be a software issue. Adding a second hard
drive cannot do anything to the pc. And it also sounds
like CompUSA screwed ya over. There is no way to loose
anything by just slaving another drive in. They did
something wrong, and may have also done something wrong
when they installed your winxp. If you know what your
doing and have the original retail/oem CD of windowsxp. I
would reformat and set it back up yourself. Windowsxp is
more stable than windowsME, its just more picky about
drivers and hardware issues.

Forced into putting XP on computer a few days ago, I have

encountered loads
of problems. The most annoying one currently is the

inability to upload to
group on Yahoo. System locks up completely and has to be

unplugged to shut
down. All this stemmed from upgrading by adding second

Hard Drive which
wiped out Windows ME. (Thank you, CompUSA). Not sure if

the second HD is the
problem although it was installed as a slave.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as I am going mad

and started to look
around for a hammer. LOL.

Thanks for response. I do not have disk and will not go back to CompUSA. I
have no idea what they did. They showed me how ME refused to start.
Something was corrupted. Naturally they take no responsibility. At this
point, I would love to have ME back since there is a new issue everyday with
XP PRO. I have had to reload every sort of software and upgrade much of it.
It's simply too much work and the thought of doing it again is mind
boggling. When I tried to install the XP upgrade (SP1) the site said the XP
was a pirate. It's really too much.......... LOL. At least I can still
laugh. All I really want want back is ability to upload and ability to open
a second screen in IE. Not too much to ask is it?
