Default System boot error

I have a problem with my system (obviously). When I boot
up after a full shutdown, it freezes before going to the
windows bootup screen. All the hardware is running, but I
have to reset my computer before it will fully boot up. It
gets annoying because I have to then deal with
that "System Restore" screen (which i've tried, but made
no difference). I had the same problem back when I used
Win 98, said something about CONFIGMG error. I thought
when I wiped my HD to install WinXP, I'd be done with it.
Anyone know whats wrong?

Try going to your Event viewer (system and application) to see what type of
errors windows is writing to the logs. This will give you an idea what is
causing the problem.
rightclick My computer - Manage - Event Viewer.

- nothing in a computer "just happens" randomly.
- most likely the problem occurs after something YOU changed maybe
inadvertedly.
- it is NOT the computer fault.
- if you don't like MS so much, why are you in a MS newsgroup?
