Default Help - I can't read any disks in the CD Drive

I have put several disks into my CD Rom and I'm getting
the message "Windows cannot read from this disk. This
disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format
that is not compatible with windows." I've used these
disks before and they work. The other day I copied
information from my a CD to my hard drive and then
after that my computer wouldn't read the same disk. I
never thought much of it until now that my computer won't
read any disks. The device manager says the drive is
working properly. I have windows XP Home Edition. Can
anyone help?
