Before you assume the ram is bad, try to remove the other
RAM and put only the new RAM in where the original memory
was. If the PC boots, add the original RAM in the second
slot. Try again. Sometimes, RAM is picky about the ORDER
its is installed in the SIMM / DIMM (memory) slots.

Also, check your video card to be certain it is seated.
You could have bumped it when you were installing the RAM
by mistake. (Award BIOS - 1 Long, then 3 Short Beeps:
Video error)
