I have just upgraded to Win 7. About three times a week, I return to my
computer and find it has shut down. It takes a long time to boot up after this and I get a message "searching for a solution, but no answers given. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks |

Anyone else had this problem? 1) Change your Startup and Recovery settings so your computer doesn't automatically restart in the event of a catastrophic error. What's on the screen after such an event can be very revealing. Right-Click on My Computer... Advanced system settings... Startup and recovery... Uncheck 'Automatically restart'. 2) Go into; Control Panel... System & Security... Administrative Tools... Select 'View event logs'. There's a wealth of information there that can lead you to the source of the problem. A_C |

Al Have a look he Control Panel System and Security Action Center Maintenance drop down menu View Reliability history. Select to view by Days and click on an item to view details. There may be something listed there that will be a clue. |
