Default Explorer Navigation Pane

I can't stand the new Navigation pane in explorer and want to not display
Favorites, Libraries and Homegroup. All I want displayed are Computer and
Network or at a minimum have them at the top of the pane. Is there a way to
do that or to go back to the old folders view?

Thanks,
D

Right-click whatever you want to get rid of and choose "Remove."

I want to get rid of the entire category not items under those groups. The
remove option isn't available at the top level, only on items under Favs
etc.

I agree. I've switched to Free Commander:
http://www.freecommander.com/

Good dual pane view and the view doesn't jump all over the place when you
expand the tree. Nor does it open my DVD if I accidentally click on an
empty drive.

To reduce the clutter check that in:
Folder Options General Navigation pane 'Show all folders' is cleared.
Also, if you collapse all or any of the Favorites, Libraries or Computer
branches in the navigation pane the setting should be remembered globally.

You want to remove the Navigation Pane? With the Navigation Pane
visible, click Organize, then Layout. Then uncheck Navigation Pane.
