Default XP Home will not install - user32.dll will not load

XP Home edition will not load on my HP Pavilion model
6735. Failed repeated attempts to load user32.dll from XP
Home installation disk. Following msg ensues: "STOP:
c000135 {unable to locate component} this application has
failed to start because user32.dll was not found. re-
installing the application may fix this problem". As
stated reinstalls fail.

Pressing any key upon start-up to force start up from disk
produces following msg: "The file usbohci.sys is
corrupted. Press any key to restart you computer."

Can anyone help me?
