Default need help (please)

Hi there, I saw your post & I believe I know the answer.
When Win Xp was put on pc's HP being the inovator that
they are in saving money decided to load the restore cds
as an "Image" on to the computer in a special partition
on the pc, there is a user interface that you can use
only at "Boot time" that will allow you to restore single
programs, non destructively restore unit (system files
only) or restore entire system, your only chance
unfortunately at backing up is to backup to external media
