Default RAM

I have a fairly new P4 3.0Gig PC and want to upgrade my RAM from 512 to
1Gig.

How can I find out what type of RAM I have (no info of actual type came with
PC) as there seems so many different types to buy.

Thanks

G

download "sandra" program (System Analyzer/Diagnostic and Reporting
Assistant) to give your system specs...

Hi Greg,

Your manufacturer should be able to tell you what sort of ram your system
takes. If you know the make/model specifics, go to www.crucial.com and use
the wizard to determine what sort of memory is appropriate for your system.

You can also download and install the free Belarc Advisor from
www.belarc.com which will tell you a significant amount of data on your
system.

Greetings --

If you cannot lay your hands upon the PC's manuals:

SiSoft's Sandra
http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/index.ph...are_dl&lang=en

Belarc Advisor
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Unlimited Possibilities' AIDA32
http://www.aida32.hu/aida-download.php?bit=32

Also, Crucial Memory's web site (www.crucial.com) has a database
to help to find the right RAM for your specific make and model PC.

Pull the 512 that you have and take it to the PC store and tell
them to match it with another 512. With a P4 3.0gig you
probably have PC3200. Plenty of good PC shops in the UK.
