floppy drive has prolblems

Hi, I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RX650 and there is a problem
with my floppy drive. When i insert the floppy disk, it
says "Disk is not formated, do you wish to format?" I
put yes and it has the format window. When i try to
quick format it it saws windows cannot quick format
floppy disk. When i normal format my disk, it
says "windows was unable to complete the format." I
Really need help because i cannot save documents on the
floppy. I have tried old disks, new disks, tab down, and
tab up. If any of you can help me i would be greatful.
Its not a customized computer so i canno change the
floppy disk.
