Default Infrared port on XP machine

Hi

I have a laptop with XP home edition on it. My laptop has
a built in infrared port. I have a Panasonic GD87e phone
which, it says, and i've seen a demo of, can send
pictures taken with my phone to my laptop via the
infrared port.

the infrared drivers are installed but when i send from
my phone it's as if the laptop doesn't see it. there's
no response at all, though sometimes the hard disk is
doing something but it could be background stuff.

does anyone have any idea how to wake up my infrared
port?

if i go into Manage, Services and click on the Infrared
port to Start it, it says it can't start because of some
of the dependencies? not sure if this is anything to do
with it? but if i start the dependencies the infrared
command still wont start.....

thanking you in advance....

Greetings --

What specific application have you installed onto the laptop to
receive and process the data you're transmitting from the phone via
infrared? WinXP cannot, by itself, understand the signals the phone
is sending it. You'll have to purchase and install whatever software
application it was that you watched being demonstrated.
