Default my dvd driver and cd rom are not accessible

My DVD driver and CD ROM worked well before I chang
operation system (the original OP is window ME). But my
DVD driver and CD ROM are not accessible after I change
to Windows XP. I ever tried to install them in "add
hardware". But I failed. It always said "Windows cannot
start this hardware device because its configuration
information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged.
(Code 19)" in the "Add Hardware Wizard".

Please help me handle this problem. Thanks a lot.
