System tools problem
I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC laptop (dv7-3111ea) with Windows 7
Home Premium OA. My anti-virus program is Kaspersky and it's up-to-date. About a week ago, I restarted the computer routinely - just to clear out the memory - but afterwards it was now super slow. I tried restarting again and, after an hour's wait, I gave up and shut down. On starting up again, the computer's speed was much better but I didn't feel things were as they should be. I had recently created a restore point, and I decided restore to it. Afterwards everything was now better but Windows Live Mail was now grouping messages automatically. (I had never chosen this option.) Thinking there might still be something wrong, I decided to buy a caddy and blank internal HD to clone my laptop HD (prior to restoring to an earlier point) but my computer does not detect the blank HD. What's more, I tried to find all my drives through Accessories (System Tools), expecting to see that old black-and-white rectangle with the drive partitions indicated, but the feature doesn't seem to be there at all. Can anyone suggest what problem I might have? Thanks. |

Start Control Panel System & Security Admin Tools: Create & Format hard disc partitions. Or ..... Start Admin Tools Computer Management: Disc Management. Or ..... Start Computer Right Click Computer folder Manage: Disc management. That's the one you want. jim |

You can also delete the Windows Live 2011 that the update installed and re-install Windows Live version 14 like I (and others) have done. It's available he http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows...live-mail.html Your folders and settings are not deleted. |

So, what do you suppose happens when someone else using WLM 2011 quotes you? There is no differentiation between their comments and yours. All sense of who said what will be lost. Your newsreader is certainly going to cause mistakes, mis-attributions and misunderstandings. Not to mention that your response is included with the previous message's signature, which means that your response is cut off by most newsreaders. |

I clearly insert a horizontal line between quoted text and my reply to separate them. Nor did I write the above; you did. So everyone else must conform to you, because you can't be bothered to do it right? I see. Doubtless you'll also blame Windows Live for the fact that you cant be bothered to trim quotes either. -- Stan Brown, Oak Road Systems, Tompkins County, New York, USA http://OakRoadSystems.com Shikata ga nai... |
