When upgrading to XP I lost some files

I was able to somehow find the files for my netscape e-mail but I have yet to be able to find it with my wife's. Things are just hidden. Why do they do that? I have tried changing the attributes and got a lot of directories "un-hidden", but not all of them Thanks CRaig -----Original Message----- The update process is *supposed* to keep data (and 3rd party program) folders intact, but sometimes, especially within the 'windows' folder, it does not. You may be out of luck, in that regard. However, on the EZCD creator front, you are probably okay. Roxio has patches to bring EZCD into the XP world. (www.roxio.com) They continually redesign their site, so I can't point you reliably to a particular page, but the patches are there. You may want to ask in the on- line forums which you'll need. -- Hope this is helpful, Walter Hawn Associate XPert The Expert Zone - www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone "Craig Futterman" wrote in message ... I had Windows 98 and upgraded to XP Home. My netscape user files were in the Windows/Mozilla directory under 98. I didn't think they would be erased. I am dumb! Are they deleted? Also, I was using EZ CD creator OEM version which came with my PC. It is not compatable with XP. I had backed up those directories to the CDRW... XP can't seem to read them... Any help would be appreciated. Craig Futterman. Folder Options View. Mark the box to "Show All Files and Folders." Uncheck the option to Hide System Protected Files and Folders.
