Default new sound card

Xref: 127.0.0.1 microsoft.public.windowsxp.newusers:70522

Go to your bios find "onboard sound card" click on enabled
you should have a minimum of 2 choices depending on the
bios then click disable. Install your new sound card in
your tower, turn on puter and Windows will tell you that
you have new hardware. Then load software from SC supplied.

i bought a new computer with on-board sound and am not

very impressed with
the quality. i want to install a stand-alone sound card

but i understand
that to do this is have to alter "jumpers" so that the

computer will
recognize the new one. can anyone explain simple terms?
