Please Help - XP Intallation - Unable to Access Win 98 ICQ Program
Your help is very appreciated... heres my problem...
I upgraded to Win XP from Win 98. I installed it into a different folder rather than a clean install. All works well except I am not able to use my ICQ account that I had before I upgraded. The application is not listed in my new XP programs. Using windows explorer I am able to find the application on my hard drive but when clicking on it it gives me an error. I am at a loss on what to do... Do I have to boot up using Win 98 assuming I can do that ? I can simply install an new ICQ version on my XP programs but I need to open my account to see my pasword before I can do that to recover my logon info... frustrated... and thanks... |

You will need to reinstall ICQ under XP. Since you didn't do an upgrade, XP
knows nothing about the ICQ install. -- Doug Knox, MS-MVP Windows XP/ Windows Smart Display Win 95/98/Me/XP Tweaks and Fixes http://www.dougknox.com -------------------------------- Associate Expert ExpertZone - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone -------------------------------- Please reply only to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
