Default Update: Computer will not shutdown automatically

I've since gone to the device manager and clicked show
hidden devices and NT APM/Legacy support is there but it
says it can't load (error 31), I checked out this error
in the knowledge base but it didn't really help anything.
What do I need to get APM working? Once it works will XP
shut down windows?
Thanks

-----Original Message-----
Hi, I'm using XP Pro Sp1 and my computer has stopped
shutting down automatically and now it only takes me to
the "its safe to turn off the computer now" screen. I
tried this post on the site for my motherboard (MSI

KT3V)
and the bios has ACPI enabled, and windows shows the
system as "MPS uniprocessor". I even installed NT/APM
Legacy Support and now have a APM tab in the power
options but its already checked and the system still

does
not shutdown automatically.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
.
