CHKDSK does not repair and ends up in a loop. charedan

Tried to defrag C: drive. Was advise to use CHKDSK as
there were apparent
problems on HD. Scheduled to do it on next boot. CHKDSK
dos not seem to
find anything wrong, reboots and tells me that it
finished checking HD bu
then hangs computer. Rebooting restart the loop at the
beginning.

Managed to reboot from a former state, but problem still
there on HD.

Looks like a recurring problem but retention is so poor,
was not able to
find any soltion here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
