Default temperature control

My fan that keeps my laptop from overheating is always
on. It use to only turn on every once in a while. Does
this mean there is a malfunction?

Probably means dust is building up inside. Dust is a good insulator, so the
fan would have to run more to keep up.
I'd have it checked out.
