XP SP2 "A network cable is unplugged"

Default XP SP2 "A network cable is unplugged"

I installed SP2 a little while ago and am not getting the "A network cable is
unplugged message". I updated my network adapter drivers with windows update
and even bought a new network adapter. Help!!!!
