Default Windows loading 2 graphics cards.

I am using a Radeon 9600XP video card.I installed XP home edition on a new
harddrive, then updated SP2.Now it installs a Radeon 9600XP - Secondary in
the system.I can goto device manager, disable, then uninstall so i can play
games. If i just try to uninstall without disabling it will reinstall after
reboot. It did not do this on my previous HD which Did Not have SP2 on
it.Windows problem or should I be looking more at the video card
drivers?Thank you.

If it's a dualhead card, it's normal for ATI. I don't understand why it's
interfering with your game play. If you don't have a second monitor there
should be no problem with the game. If you do have a second monitor,
disable the monitor for game play: Display Settings: click on picture for
second monitor and uncheck box to extend desktop.

I dont know if the game is getting "confused" in trying to use which adapter
driver. When it has both the adapter and the secondary adapter there if I try
to load games they will crash. As soon as I disable it and uninstall no
problems at all.Its set on single monitor as well.I double checkes all the
ATI functions to see if there was anyhting to turn off and there was nothing
checked.Anyway to make it stop loading the secondary one through windows?

You said originally that you can disable the second adapter in Device
Manager. Why not stop there (don't uninstall drivers) and try the game from
that point?
