is there something free like ICE that will make images from a movie?
Several years ago, I used the free Microsoft ICE (image composite
editor) to stitch together over 50 images to make a huge composite image. Now I want to take the same images and make a movie that would essentially show panning across the same area that the same composite contains. Any recommendations welcome, especially if there's something free like ICE was. Thanks in advance. |

Little did I suspect. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Burns_effect "Virtually all non-linear editing systems provide a tool to implement this technically simple effect, although only some systems, such as iMovie and Openshot for Linux, specifically call it a Ken Burns Effect; it is usually simply referred to as pan and zoom." Maybe you can hone your search with that. I can imagine though, a video editor barfing when it sees the size of your image. When I used ICE to join 70 images together, the output was in .psb ("Photoshop Big") format, and not much reads that. I think IrfanView could. Many of my experiments with that image, I ran out of RAM. The output file was somewhere around 10GB. Paul |
