Default Display properties problem

I've set the theme to windows classic. Under appearance I've set windows and
buttons to windows classic style and the colour scheme to windows classic.
Most of the time this theme is displayed when I start up. However, once maybe
twice a week the settings for windows and buttons changes to windows xp style
and the colour scheme changes to default (blue). Why is this happening? There
doesn't seem to be a pattern to when this occurs. I never know from one day
to the next if my preferred schemes are going show or if it will be the
windows xp style/default (blue) that will show. Most of the time everthing's
ok.
Any advice appreciated.

Hi Ed,

Try this:

Copy the text below between the dotted lines, but not the dotted lines
themselves. Open Notepad and paste it in. Save the result in a
suitable location as settings.reg - making sure that the default .txt
extension doesn't appear in the file name.
Double-click on the saved .reg file to merge the contents.
Restart.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies
\Explorer]
"NoSaveSettings"=dword:00000000
