Default Difference between 2 processors

Hello,

Sorry for the maby stupid question but hardware is not my best.

My boss ordered me to buy a new PC for a machine operating system (created
in VB.NET 2003 with SQL Server 2005 and WinccFlexible)
Now i asked me what was the difference between the following processors:

Pentium M 730, 1,6 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 2
MB SLC; Profibus/MPI;

AND

Pentium 4 Mobile 2,2 GHz, 400 MHz FSB, 512 KB SLCProfibus/MPI;

Can anebody help me what the difference is between those 2 and especially
the Mobile part?

Thanks

This is a Pentium M 730 processor (named Dothan) from Intel.
Typically found in laptop computers, due to its low power consumption
of 27W. The "SLC" part threw me - that is the L2 cache size
specification for the processor itself.

Some background on Dothan here.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium_M

The second processor is an older technology. That processor draws
35W.

From Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium...le_Pentium_4_M

"Mobile Pentium 4 M

Also based on the Northwood core, the Mobile Intel Pentium 4
Processor - M was released on April 23, 2002 and included
Intel's SpeedStep and Deeper Sleep technologies, but not
Hyper-Threading."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperthreading#Details

So both products are using processors which draw less power
than typical desktop processors.

The Mobile is the low voltage version of the pentium 4 to be put into a
laptop instead of a desktop. First there was the Mobile Pentium 4 M, which
didn't have any SpeedStep and then the Mobile Pentium 4:without the M but
with the SpeedStep. After that came the Pentium M, derived from the
Pentium III (and not the Pentium 4) and truly designed from the ground to be
put into a laptop.

Don't be confused by the fact that the Pentium was derived from then Pentium
III instead of the Pentium 4: the Pentium M is a much better performer than
the Pentium 4 Mobile and in fact, the latest Core 2 Duo processors from
Intel are themselves based on the Pentium M, not the Pentium 4.

The Pentium M 730, 1,6 GHz should outperform a Pentium 4 Mobile 2,2 GHz
without any trouble.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium_M and:
