Default // XP Shuts Down on boot

any particular error message or it just shutsdown?
-----Original Message-----
A friend of mine is having problems with his computer

that i can't seem to
resolve as of yet, it has the problem where windows will

unexpectedly
restart. One person suggested that we try updating the

BIOS, so we did.
While the flash went well; now windows will not boot.

As soon as it tries
to get to the logon screen, it shuts down... Not

restart, but shutdown. It
will boot, but runs slowly, when he loads the fail-safe

settings in the
BIOS. I haven't had a chance to go look at the computer

myself, but I was
hoping to maybe get some suggestions as to what the

problem may be before I
go take a look at it. It seems to me that it might be a

bad memory stick or
some device/driver. Still looking for answers....

Thank you,
Mike
