Default sp1 sp2 for xp

when i need to use sp1 and when i need to use sp2 with xp ?
i means what is the diffrance between sp1 and sp2 ?

You don't need SP1. You do need SP2, which is a later update.

SP2 includes SP1, as well as many more recent updates.

SP2 is the later service pack, including everything in SP1 as
well as many other fixes and improvements.

after i download sp2 and try to install it i received an error messege
tells me as i remeber that ( the service pack will not be install becuse the
product key of windows in not ......) what is the reason of this ?

SP2 checks to see if you have a legal copy of Windows XP.

Take the issue up with your supplier

It's not SP2 but GWA that is doing that.

On August 10, 2007, Microsoft announced a minor update to Service Pack 2, called Service Pack 2c (SP2c). The update fixes the issue of the diminishing number of available product keys for Windows XP. This update was only available to system builders from their distributors in Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Professional N operating systems. SP2c was released in September 2007.
