Display Profiles
Lenovo T500 laptop Win XP Pro running Radeon video and Catalyst Control
Center installed and working. Manually I can set up a profile and get Catalyst to set the display I want but I cannot figure out how to get Catalyst to do this at boot up. How do I get Catalyst to set a profile at boot time ? |

Manually I can set up a profile and get Catalyst to set the display I want but I cannot figure out how to get Catalyst to do this at boot up. How do I get Catalyst to set a profile at boot time ? Profiles are associated to a particular program. When the program launches (its process is discoverable) then Catalyst applies the settings in the profile that lists that program. You are booting Windows. You are not loading an application called Windows. Profiles are tied to programs, not to the OS. I suppose you could create a startup program to which a Catalyst profile targets, so when Windows starts then the startup program launches and the Catalyst profile will fire. However, I suspect if that startup program exits then the Catalyst profile is no longer in force. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypDkIJrgaOw Catalyst is monitoring processes to see when you load the program specified in a Catalyst profile. If you want to start with a particular set of settings in Catalyst then why aren't you configuring those settings how you want so they get used when Windows loads? Set the System settings in Catalyst for whatever defaults you want when Windows loads. That' why they're called system settings. Application settings (a Catalyst profile) require you to load the application specified within a profile. https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-art...-Software.aspx Profiles are game profiles. Profiles are application profiles. Profile activate when you load the application (which could be a game or not). |
