XP pro and Server 2000 AD
I have 50 XP pro and 10 win98 workstations. The win98 stations logon to the
Domain in 15 secs, the XP Pro w/s take upwards of 2-3mins to connect. Is it something to do with Group Policies? It is a Server 2000 with AD,there are no roaming profiles enabled. Thanks. |

All servers and workstations should specify *only* the internal AD-integrated DNS server's IP address in their network settings. The AD-integrated DNS server should be set up with forwarders to your ISP's DNS servers for external resolution or use root hints. See http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;300202 for more info. Do you use WINS? I'd think so given your 9x clients - you can also set up DNS to lookup to WINS on the DNS server itself. |
