How to block internet and control panel access
Log in under the built in Administrator account, and go to Control Panel, User Accounts and select the Adminstrator account. Assign a password for this account that only you know.
To prevent specific users from accessing Internet Options and Control Panel, see www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Windows XP Security Console. -- Doug Knox, MS-MVP Windows Media Center\Windows Powered Smart Display\Security Win 95/98/Me/XP Tweaks and Fixes http://www.dougknox.com -------------------------------- Per user Group Policy Restrictions for XP Home and XP Pro http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_securityconsole.htm -------------------------------- Please reply only to the newsgroup so all may benefit. I can't delete this accnt and it is not showing under regular control panel users The standard security practice is to rename the built-n Administrator account, set a strong password on it, and use it only to create another account for regular use, reserving the Administrator account as a "back door" in case something corrupts your regular account(s). If you haven't done so, you've left your computer wide open to anyone who sits down at the keyboard. How to block internet and control panel access
As others have replied be sure to give the administrator account a strong
password that is kept confidential. Beyond that you may want to look into using the free Shared Computer Toolkit from Microsoft as shown in the link below. --- Steve http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/s.../overview.mspx "ypramesh" wrote in message ...
