But Edge works right now. Could it be that the google site is down
and that prevents Chrome from going to other sites?

No!

Try he- http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

I have access to google.com when using Edge or Firefox but Chrome is
totally dead. I get a blank screen when even trying to delete
browsing data. No big deal, I just switched my default browser to
Firefox and the hell with Chrome until Firefox fails.

Turn off your computer for 10 minutes ....... and then restart it.

Does your problem persist?

Chrome is working this morning.

*Great News*, Ricardo! :-)

Did you actually turn off your computer as I had suggested?

However Firefox worked so well
yesterday that I will keep it as my default browser. It easily me to
transfer over all my passwords and bookmarks from Chrome. This isn't
the first time I have had a Chrome problem.

Firefox is a great browser. I use it as a back-up to my others!

I turned the computer off overnight so that alone might have fixed
Chrome.

Indeed! Thanks for confirming! :-)

I know from life-long experience that MANY electrical/electronic device
'problems' are magically fixed simply by turning off the equipment,
unplugging it from mains power if appropriate, and leaving it alone for
a few minutes for energy stored in capacitors to dissipate.

Is there any advantage of Chrome over Firefox? I have both
on my PC and Android tablet and the PC and Android versions stay in
sync.

Not really. It's personal preference. Do, though, make sure that you are
using the most up-to-date versions. Here's a short video I found for you
- to show how to do this with Chrome:-

You may find some of the other videos on YouTube helpful. I always take
a look there if faced with a 'problem'!

Have a great day! :-)

The newest version of Chrome is 58.0.329.81

I don't upgrade applications very often.

Steve

Chrome updates silently. You don't have to do anything.
Right after the update install, Chrome didn't work for me
either - blank pages as an earlier poster reported.

The next day, it worked fine. I didn't check, but I presume
that it sensed the Windows update and updated itself.

Thanks, Paul.

FYI - my crosspost DID, actually, 'work'!

I wonder why he'd want to do that. No matter!

He doesn't want off-topic posts in his group,
one would assume. That thread with the 1600 posts
in it, some people are doing the same thing there.
