Notifications - what are they for?

You need to contact Microsoft to point out any pointless icons on your
machine. There is nothing we can do aprt from advising you what you can

setting, do you think it is one of these?

Connect = Off
Get notifications from apps and other senders = Off
Get notifications from these senders
AutoPlay = Off
Settings = Off
Storage settings = Off

Nothing, absolutely nothing at all. I've never had one pop up that told me something I wanted to know.

Wasn't the bong enough? Wasn't the folder opening (or whatever you set to be the action taken) enough? When I plug in my camera, I get a folder opening showing all the photos on it.

We already had notifications about disk space and useful stuff like that before this extra Windows 10 **** appeared.

If that's a notificatio, I do get a small blue borderless window that
slides into view int he bottom right, and a loud sound, when I plug in
phone.

What's interesting is that the sound is louder than any other sound I
have, or at least it's at or near maximum even when the volume is set
lower. I'd be willing to forego this sound, I thing, but it's only once
a day.
