connection icon
I have the following system and everything actually works.
PC connected with wifi [Sitecom ADSL2+ Modem/Router 54G Turbo WL-174] by USB cable. I have internet acces and also WPA-secure wifi access with my own network. My question is, that I don't have any shortcut icon for the adsl connection. On the taskbar I have an icon which says "LAN-connection", but nothing about adsl. When I look in network connections window I have ----------------- under dialup modem connection - one (emergency) connection under LAN of fast internet connection - LAN-connection - 1394 connection (firewire) under PAN personal area network - one bluetooth connection ----------------- Isn't there supposed to be a connection icon for the adsl modem? I want to be able to control the adsl connection (manual disconnect when needed) too, like I can with the dialup modem. I do have to mention that I have not installed the CD that came with the Sitecom modem/router, because everything already seems to work and I thought installing the CD would only take up space needlessly. Is it wise to install the Sitecom CD or not? Who can shed a light on this situation? -- regards, |\ /| | \/ |@rk \../ \/os |
