Xp logs out
For some reason, if I leave my computer alone for more than an hour,
when I get back it asks for me to chose between my log on and admin log on. I just want the computer to default to admin and not ask for a password. I went he http://pcsupport.about.com/od/window...o-logon-xp.htm Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer. Was already unchecked. |

There, you can look at setting to stop the thing from locking the screen. Under Power Scheme, are standby and hibernate options, associated with the currently selected Power Schemes. I have mine set to "Always On", which wastes a bit of electricity. I have Standby and Hibernate set to "Never". In fact, all four down there are "Never". Under Advanced, is a "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby". While mine is ticked, I've never been prompted. I think that's because I hibernate the computer, rather than select standby when I'm done. The "control userpasswords2" one, was the one I was going to suggest, until I had a look, and didn't see what I was looking for in there. In the Display control panel, under Screen Saver, I have mine turned off. So the properties associated with my Screen Saver don't matter to me. You might take a look in there as well, as that's probably another opportunity to annoy you ("On Resume, password protect"). See the fun you can have ? :-) Paul |
