Please clarify what do you mean Windows 8 won't work. You don't need
Microsoft account to run windows 8/8.1. What exactly are you trying to
do? If you are trying to download some app from the store then you need
to login but this can be done application by application. Also, there
is no need to use Windows Mail App that comes with windows 8/8.1. You
can download Windows Live Mail 2012 or Thunderbird and both works fine.
I am beginning to like WLM2012 more than TB.

Default Need to mantain microsoft email

Hello,

I mean if I go on vacation for a long time and nobody writes me, I can lose
the Microsoft email account that was used to identify in Windows 8. I think
I cannot use another Microsoft account to update via Windows Store. I've
read next Update 2 will require Windows Store.

Another scenario is someone using Microsoft account to login Windows 8 and
suddenly Microsoft blocks email account for inactivity. In this case would
not be possible to login Windows 8.

Not sure of the source or how Lee arrived at his comments.

Win8, as it should, would work even if a MSFT account used for logon and
that same MSFT email was blocked. (Win8 can successfully be logged on
with a MSFT account without an internet connection.)

Inactivity (MSFT accounts) before web based files are purged occurs
after 365 days of inactivity, once the account is purged, account
closure begins (purging and closure is not always immediate after 365
days sometimes not fully closed for a few months)....but it will not
prevent logging on to Windows 8.

The Windows Store can be accessed by any logged on and functional MSFT
account.
