Default XP SP2 update installation glitch

I downloaded the update from MS for Windows XP (SP2) to
my Dell PC but during installation the wizard program
can't find the file for Windows XP with Frontpage and
asks for the installation file. The Dell Windows XP CD
that came with the computer does not seem to have what it
wants. Any idea what I need to do?

Hi Paul,

There is no SP2 there is SP1 and SP1a

Frontpage is included with xp and should have installed during the origional
install.

It is at C:\Program Files\microsoft frontpage\

Thanks Richard, but Microsoft does now have a SP2
download for XP. Perhaps the problem is that my disk from
Dell is XP Home Edition and the update is for an office
edition? I wonder if I need to contact Dell about this.

Yes, that appears to be the problem. An update that asks you for an MS
Office disk is not an OS update, it is an Office update. For the update
you're describing to be of use to you, you must have also purchased either
as part of the package or separately, a version of MS Office XP.

In any case, it does not appear to be an Operating System update. It is a
Microsoft Office update - a completely separate product that has never been
part of Windows.
