Default Erroneous Automatic Update

i have been having this problem for quite afew months
now. The problems start occuring around sp1 i think. If
you look through these posts, it seems alot of people
have problems with their cd/r drive stopping working and
not knowing why. ITS BECAUSE OF AUTOMATIC UPDATE.
Microsoft has never even acknowledged there has been a
problem, even though it seems it is widespread and been
around for many months. DO SOMETHING MICROSOFT. i still
cannot use my burner and don't want to use system restore
because it happened so long ago.

-----Original Message-----
My computer is setup to receive the new updates from
Microsoft. Since the last update, my CD-RW is unable to
read discs. This is not the first time I am having
problems with the Microsoft updates. I don't want to
re=format my hard drive again. Can you, Microsoft stop
making my life so miserable.
